JOB TITLE: Facilities Manager
LOCATION: Wilmington, NC- New Hanover County
REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Three to five years prior experience as a facilities manager/professional
- Familiarity with general building maintenance needs (HVAC, electrical, telecommunications, building structural needs)
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for and supervises the maintenance, care, and efficient operation of all Coastal Horizons Center buildings and grounds, along with associated equipment used by the organization. The role oversees the daily workflow, scheduling, and assignments of the equipment and facilities department and conducts routine site visits for building evaluations that are timely and constructive.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
- Inspects and performs maintenance on buildings, equipment and facilities.
- Ensure Coastal Horizons facilities and equipment are ready for regular business and special events.
- Manages the contractual relationships used by Coastal Horizons for contracted vendors to perform building maintenance and cleaning services.
- Maintains files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for various pieces of equipment.
- Ensure buildings are properly equipped with required safety equipment
- Maintains the inventory, storage, and distribution of equipment.
- Provides recommendations for purchases of new equipment.
- Collaborate with other appropriate management staff to prepare and implement budget.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn the equipment and facilities to be maintained.
- Ability to maintain basic records and warranties.
- Ability to understand written directions in manuals and on manufacturer websites.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required to complete and maintain records.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Working knowledge and ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, and spelling.
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of stooping, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
- Must possess the visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer and do extensive reading.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel to multiple building locations.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities.
- Ability to climb ladder when required
- Must be able to access all parts of the company equipment.
