SAIOP Case Manager

JOB TITLE: SAIOP Case Manager

LOCATION: Wilmington, NC-New Hanover County, On-Site

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 40HRS/Week

JOB POSTING:

Provides support and clinical services for the SAIOP program, by providing SAIOP coverage, completing reauthorization paperwork for continuation of SAIOP, provide outreach and engagement to SAIOP referred clients, and providing case management in order to re-engage clients to attend SAIOP.

  • Provide SAIOP coverage in case of SAIOP counselor sick time off, and facilitates SAIOP group to focus on emotion regulation skills, relapse prevention, family issues, disease management, life skills, wellness, and communication skills.
  • Provides case management and community support to arrange, link, or integrate multiple services for SAIOP clients (inpatient treatment referrals, referrals to family services, etc.)
  • Provides case management and linkage for engagement of clients referred to SAIOP at intake.
  • Provides support to staff, through completing reauthorization paperwork for SAIOP, in order to decrease lapses in authorizations and increase client attendance to SAIOP.
  • Provide outreach and engagement to referred SAIOP clients
  • Group therapy utilizing evidenced based modalities, cognitive-behavioral, family, and supportive modalities. It is individualized - based on the needs of the clients.
  • In providing counseling services, staff may deal with a variety of collateral issues such as finances, medical, vocational, health, and behavior.
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions and exposed to fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gasses or poor ventilation and subject to work in close quarters. Employees may be exposed to human body fluids and are covered by the OSHA rules and regulations on blood borne pathogens

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university in human services or related field and two years of substance abuse counseling experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Qualified Professional status and registered with the NCSAPPB

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Knowledge and familiarity with facilitating Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program
  • Knowledge of the psycho-social, socioeconomic and behavioral problems and their treatment.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies which govern the program.
  • Skill in establishing rapport with a client and/or family and applying techniques of assessing psycho-social, behavioral, and psychological aspects of the client.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and members of civic, medical, social, and religious organizations.
  • Ability to formulate treatment goals and to record concisely required documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effective in oral and written forms.
  • Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of stooping, reaching, and walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly or frequently to move objects.
  • Must possess the visual acuity to perform extensive reading.
