JOB TITLE: CHILD AND ADOLESCENT THERAPIST

SUPERVISED BY: Pender Program Director

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduation from an accredited program with a Master’s degree in a human services or related field and two years of progressive substance abuse and/or mental health counseling experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possession of North Carolina licensure as one of the following: Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Psychological Associate, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Provides a full range of substance use and mental health disorder therapeutic services for children, adolescents and their families - with a minimum of supervision. Primary duties include counseling children, adolescents and their families – with much of this taking place at various school sites. Performs regular therapist functions during school vacations and summer months.
