JOB TITLE: CHILD AND ADOLESCENT DAY TREATMENT REGIONAL DIRECTOR

LOCATION: WILMINGTON, NC (NEW HANOVER COUNTY)

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduation from an accredited program with a Master’s degree in a human services or related field and two years of progressive substance abuse and/or mental health counseling experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possession of North Carolina licensure as one of the following: LPA, LPC, LCSW, or equivalent

OR

• Five years supervision experience in the substance abuse and /or mental health

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

• Provides supervision and management of all Day Treatment Program Directors related to all aspects of program expectations.
• Participates in administrative work related to planning, directing, and managing all aspects of the Child and Adolescent Day Treatment programs regionally
• Manages and oversees staff and program development across all day treatment sites
• Directs and manages the program directors of each of the day treatment programs across the region to ensure program sustainability, compliance and financial benchmarks
• Collaborates directly with supervisor in order to evaluate present programs effectiveness to determine the need for program modification and development.
• Provides support to new/current Day Treatment Program Directors as they implement program standards related to service definition, DHSR, DHHS, CARF
• Responsible for financial components of day treatment programs collectively. This includes holding directors responsible for meeting or exceeding budget expectations, proactively finding solutions to potential deviances to budget, advise on program development and budgeting needs.
• Conducts chart audits monthly, completes monthly financial reports, understands implications of census across programs on budget
• Provide required CPI training for all day treatment staff in compliance with service definition
• Provides supervision to program directors on a regular basis as needed or scheduled, related to identified goals and skills development in order to enhance skills and reinforce Best Practice treatment approach.
• Responsible for auditing programs to ensure all are following standard operating procedures and assisting in solution finding and problem solving when a program is out of compliance, ensuring quality control/Agency and Program policies /relevant laws are being followed.
• Supports program directors in managing staff of each program and using staff/resources collectively to support all programs
• Provides support for all Day Treatment program directors to include interviewing and onboarding new team members ensuring policy is understood and complied with across sites to include discipline/dismissal and promotion of staff.
• Oversees quality improvement projects across sites by hosting a weekly Day Treatment Directors collaborative meeting
• Offers potential solutions to address topics in program development, process improvement and quality service delivery across sites by joining with other program directors.
• Directs and oversees meetings as needed for purpose of disseminating program information, provide training as related to program components and assessing compliance with program expectations related to billable hours, referral completion and timely completion of clinical assessments, person-centered plan development and client NCTOPPS episode reports.
• Manages and oversee supervision of and compliance with developed guidelines for intern and volunteer positions.
• Ensure Program Directors are managing their team’s timely completion of required documentation and authorizations and compliance with Local Management Entity and Medicaid guidelines.
• Works with referrals, conducts community educational workshops, provides professional services to referrals from the private sector, judicial system and statewide institutions through marketing and training efforts
• Increase and maintain Day Treatment referrals and build community awareness of Day Treatment program by sustaining positive, active contacts with provider agencies, human services programs, educational organizations, Department of Social Services, the judicial system and statewide institutions.
• Approves and manages all program’s purchases, including trainings, resources, office supplies etc.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Considerable knowledge of the practical application of different therapeutic approaches, group dynamics, crisis intervention, and family therapy.
• Considerable knowledge of community resources.
• Knowledge of the psycho-social, socioeconomic and behavioral problems and their treatment.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies which govern the program.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes and psycho-pharmacology.
• Skill in establishing rapport with a client and/or family and applying techniques of assessing psycho-social, behavioral, and psychological aspects of the client.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and members of civic, medical, social, and religious organizations.
• Ability to formulate treatment goals and to record concisely required documentation.
• Ability to make public presentations to various community and Agency groups.
• Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute programmatic work effectively.
• Considerable knowledge of program development and expansion.
• Ability to effectively supervise and manage staff as well as to train and orient professional and support staff, including volunteers and interns.
• Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of stooping, reaching, and walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions.
• Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly or frequently to move objects.
• Must possess the visual acuity to perform extensive reading.
• Must have valid driver’s license and be able to work in community settings.
