JOB TITLE: Accounts Receivable Team Lead
SCHEDULE: 40hrs/week, Full-Time
LOCATION: On-Site (Local Candidates Only)
JOB POSTING:
The Accounts Receivable Team Lead is responsible for the general oversight of the daily operations of the AR department to identify and track trends, streamline processes, and provide support to the AR team members. This position is responsible for motivating the individuals of the AR team to ensure posting deadlines are met and claims denials are worked accurately to secure revenue in a timely manner. This position requires strong leadership skills, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize, plan, and lead the team.
REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree in business, finance or healthcare is preferred or 2-3 years' experience in Revenue Cycle
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, teams, and managers.
- Excellent knowledge of health care billing systems, procedures, documentation, and standards.
- Ability to make sound and evaluative judgments; strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient with MS Office (word, excel, power point, access); expert in Microsoft Excel; excellent with spreadsheet and medical billing software applications.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
- Assist the Accounts Receivable Manager with training and implementation of new workflows and/or policies and procedures as it relates to the AR team and new hires.
- Monitors claim status to ensure the appropriate carrier is billed and that payments are received and processed in a timely manner.
- Reports any identified trends that are resulting in delayed revenue to AR Manager.
- Provides support to the AR team when staff have scheduled and/or unexpected PTO.
- Completes special projects assigned by the AR Manager or Revenue Cycle Director
- Holds weekly team meetings to check in with staff to troubleshoot any questions or concerns, review new/updated procedures and provide updates on any upcoming changes.
- Serve as the first point of contact for questions from the AR Team, respond timely and reach out to the AR Manager if additional assistance is needed.
- Escalates claim denials to network liaisons and provider ombudsman once the AR staff has exhausted all avenues to resolve the claim denial.
- Collaborates with the Revenue Cycle Data Analyst to prepare and/or maintain requested reports on AR activities.
- Monitors staff productivity and reports gaps to AR Manager
- Manages the claim adjustments specific to timely filing, credentialing, non-covered, and non-authorized and submits monthly report to AR Manager.
- Communicate with the credentialing department to resolve credentialing denials.
- Working knowledge of appropriate billing and payment cycles to maximize cash flow.
- Receive and manage change of funding notifications to secure payment from the correct payer.
- Maintains up-to-date expertise and knowledge of healthcare billing laws, rules, regulations, and developments necessary for the organization to make informed business decisions.
- Encourages teamwork, energetic and motivates teams and individuals.
- Maintains a cooperative work environment to foster Coastal Horizons Center's missions and values and to meet goals.
- Communicates immediately to AR Manager with compliance-related problems and unresolved processes.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently on constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Must possess the visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures and operate a computer terminal.
