JOB TITLE: SCHOOL-BASED CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

(Location: High School-Based Wellness Centers, Part-Time)

SUPERVISED BY: School-Based Wellness Centers Provider/Coordinator

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate from an accredited school, with at least an Associates Degree in Healthcare Related Field, and/or Medical Assistant Certification; special consideration given to those with experience working with pediatric/adolescent patients and their families and their human services needs;

OR

• An equivalent combination education and experience. Preferred: 1-2 years experience in outpatient clinical setting with pediatric population.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER:

• BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
• Current and active certification as a medical assistant by one of the following: American Associate of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (RMA), National Healthcare Worker's Association (NHCWA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA).
• Valid Driver’s License

POSITION INFORMATION:

This is a 10 month, part-time position working 24 hours per week. High School-Based CMA will primarily work at two of the four NHCS high school- based clinics (Hoggard, Laney, Ashley, and New Hanover) and must be willing to travel between clinical sites. A typical work week schedule is 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM, four days per week during the school year (mid-August to mid-June), with time off during the school holidays/breaks and summer months.
